Welcome to the 490 entrepreneurs who have joined our exciting AWIEF/AfDB project

Last week was a bumper week for AWIEF’s Programmes Team with not one, not two, but three new Enterprise and Skills Development programmes being launched.

After receiving thousands of applications, nearly 500 participants were selected from Kenya, Malawi, Nigeria, Rwanda, South Africa, Tanzania, Zambia and Zimbabwe to take part in AWIEF’s flagship Growth Accelerator, eCommerce Capacity Development, and Digital Skills programmes.

The programmes form part of the AWIEF project “Solutions Catalysing Increased Access to Capital for the Success of Women Entrepreneurs“, funded by the African Development Bank (AfDB) within the framework of its Affirmative Finance Action for Women in Africa (AFAWA) initiative, which aims to boost women entrepreneurship in Africa.

We thank our project partners for their support: United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO)Amazon Web Services (AWS), and Nedbank.

Welcome to all the participants and congratulations for being selected! We are delighted to have you with us and to work with you to develop and grow your businesses and yourselves as entrepreneurs.
