Matlou Tsotetsi is a seasoned marketer. Her experience spans over 20 years which includes a myriad of industries including the South African and Nigerian public and private sector projects.
Before founding her own consulting business Matlou was on the pioneering team that established and launched the Proudly South African brand/campaign – a buy local campaign. She also developed brand and marketing strategies for the Edcon (Edgars) group – As head of marketing for the kids wear division and later responsible for all activewear brands (Nike, adidas, Puma and RBK) and footwear. She worked on various project within the chain both as an employee and later as a consultant.
In the recent past, she has developed brand and communications strategies for Eskom, Tiger foods, Harbour Fish Market, South African Breweries, and Simbavati River Lodge in South Africa – among others.
In Nigeria, she was part of the team that worked on the brand repositioning for the Nigeria Deposit Insurance Corporation, Sidmach Technologies, strategic work for the Nigeria Centenary project, brand and communications strategy for YOA Insurance, developed a web sales portal for YOA direct. She was MD for Blake and Harper an Abuja based communications agency, to develop strategies for their various public sector clients.
Matlou is currently the CEO of Ellen Grace Consulting. She is the brand and sponsorship director and member of the international committee of the All Africa Music Awards (AFRIMA), a continental programme in association with the African Union Commission. She also sits on the board of AWIEF (Africa Women Innovation and Entrepreneurship Forum).
