Jaana Keitaanranta is the Country Director/Zimbabwe & Eswatini for the International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD), and is especially interested in Rural Development and Poverty Reduction strategies, Territorial development, Targeting strategies and Inclusion of Vulnerable Groups, Women Empowerment, Enterprise Development, Market Access, Pro-Poor Value chains, Food Security and Nutrition, Natural Resource Management and Climate Change, Knowledge management, Systematization and Institutional Learning.
She lived for 13 years in Latin America (Panama and Bolivia) managing IFAD funded country offices and coordinating the country programmes and the related policy dialogue. Long experience in the poverty reduction and rural development programmes in Central America (mainly Panama, Belize and Honduras), in the English speaking Caribbean (Grenada, Jamaica, St. Lucia, Guyana), Suriname, Dominican Republic and in the Andean region (Bolivia). Since 2016 working at the East and Southern Africa Division (mainly Eswatini and Zimbabwe) first from Rome and since August 2018 from South Africa.
She has a solid background in macro-economics and finance, as well as wide work-related training in gender, M&E and knowledge management issues.
