In true essence of the African proverb “If you want to go fast go alone – if you want to go far go together “quoted by Mr. Juan Pablo Davila, the UNIDO Industrial Development Officer the Executive E-marketing programme was launched on the 15th of June 2021 by United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO) in partnership with AWIEF, Opportunities for Youth in Africa (OYA) and West Africa Competitiveness Programme (WACOMP) Ghana. As the programme is replicated for the third time success is celebrated as cited by Ms. Irene Ochem CEO and Founder of AWIEF through the growth of past participants who opened E-commerce businesses, improved their online presence and are now selling internationally.
The Executive E-marketing Programme will run for 10 weeks until the 31st of August 2021. Twenty-eight agro-processing entrepreneurs from Ghana, Kenya, Nigeria and Zambia will be equipped with digital skills to enhance market access through building knowledge, capacity, and skills in digital channels for success in online business. Participants will have global reach with new opportunities to expand market access globally.
The online programme involves weekly live Zoom sessions, discussion boards as well as activities and assignments. This inclusive programme involves technical, in-depth training on topics which include e-commerce business models, state of digital by country 2021, introduction to e-marketing, researching customers and competitors, creating online content, social media business page set up, social store set up and social media profile optimisation. The learning sessions will be reinforced by coaching support on social media marketing as well as how to start, grow and scale an e-commerce business.
