AWIEF is excited to announce that we have been selected as one of the inaugural winners in the Africa-Europe Foundation’s New Partners Initiative.
Following the launch of the New Partners Initiative in April 2022, which received more than 120 applications from 36 countries, the Africa-Europe Foundation this week announced AWIEF as one of 16 projects selected, 10 of which come from Africa and 6 from Europe.
The Africa-Europe Foundation is co-founded by Friends of Europe and the Mo Ibrahim Foundation, in partnership with the African Climate Foundation and the ONE Campaign. The purpose of the Africa-Europe Foundation is to facilitate multi-stakeholder dialogue, catalyse partnerships and unlock new opportunities that can transform Africa-Europe relations into action. Its New Partners Initiative is aimed at localising action to help shape a strong, mutually beneficial partnership between Africa and Europe.
The Africa-Europe Foundation said: “The Africa-Europe Foundation is proud to have selected the Africa Women Innovation and Entrepreneurship Forum as part of its New Partners Initiative scheme. The AEF is delighted to support the AWIEF in accelerating progress towards the SDGs, creating an enabling business environment for SMEs, tackling women’s role in climate action, as well as transforming African agriculture and food security.”
AWIEF’s partnership with the Africa-Europe Foundation will help facilitate a series of dialogues as part of the annual AWIEF conference taking place on the 26 and 27 September 2022 in Cairo, Egypt.
