In celebration of Women’s Month 2018 and Women Entrepreneurs in Africa, the Africa Women Innovation and Entrepreneurship Forum (AWIEF) has announced a partnership with Nedbank for a business networking breakfast event set to take place on the 3rd of August 2018 at the Radisson Blu Hotel in Sandton, Johannesburg.
The aim for the event is to bring together women in business and national leadership to discuss, create a knowledge gaining experience as well as map out strategic initiatives to promote women entrepreneurs.
AWIEF Founder and CEO, Irene Ochem says she is excited about the partnership with Nedbank. “We believe that Africa’s socio-economic transformation can be fast-tracked through enhanced economic empowerment, participation and leadership for its women and girls, and having Nedbank as one of the drivers of change will strengthen our mandate”. AWIEF has invited some of Africa’s most admired and influential thought leaders in the private and public sectors to share insights and dialogue on the role women play in innovation and transformation.
Themed “Innovation and transformation: women heading forward”, speakers for the event include: Hon. Elizabeth Thabethe, Deputy Minister, Department of Tourism; Khanyi Dhlomo, Founder and CEO, Ndalo Media; Nirmala Reddy, Senior Manager, Enterprise Development, Business Banking, Nedbank; Dr Josephine Ngure, Acting Director General, Southern Africa Regional Development & Business Delivery Office, African Development Bank Group and Themba Kalua, Deputy Representative, UN Women South Africa Multicountry Office.
